2007 Heisman
Who do you think should get it?
1. Darren McFadden 2. Chase Daniels 3. Colt Brennan 4. Tim Tebow I think darren kinda deserves it, but had an OK year. Colt did awesome but Tebow's record setting numbers you can't ignore. Of course I'm biased for Tebow. GO GATORS!! |

history shows heisman winners suck in the NFL, soo it's good news bad news for the Tebow fans (cough).
I just find it annoying when the critics say most of his rushing TD's came from 5 yds or less. WELL DUH, the same percentage of all rushing touchdowns come from that distance retards!! McFadden had roughly the same percentage of TDs from the same distance. So if you really want to look closely at it, tail backs have a certain skill that allows them to run the ball in, vision, speed, toughness and adjusting when blocking breaks down. Quarterbacks are not known to have this skill, that's why tailbacks exist. But if you do have a QB that is good at this, then putting him in shot-gun makes and offensive potential that is very difficult the defend. Not impossible to defend, but difficult. And you see what happens when Tebow is not a run threat (Georgia game, injured shoulder) defense can focus on the passing game, etc.... Basically my rant is the writers degrading tebows rushing TD's when, if they gave all those rushing TD's to a tail back, he would have won the heisman for setting an SEC rushing TD record and they would have been praising his skill (list of skills mentioned above) at getting it into the endzone from 5yds out. Tebow hater, just go home and cry, and dream about the Heisman curse and the NFL. waaahhhh |

Tebow becomes the third Florida quarterback to win the Heisman and, as a result, every preacher in the Sunshine State will have his son throwing on Sunday. All three Gators quarterbacks who won the Heisman -- Steve Spurrier (1966), Wuerffel (1996) and Tebow -- are the sons of clergymen.
